Virgin Galactic

Virgin Galactic

Once the domain of just a few men and women, space travel for the masses is now a reality with Virgin Galactic!

With over 700 people booked to visit space and many more considering the dream of space flight, Virgin Galactic is making this dream a reality for just $250K.

Those booked to fly into outer space get priority access to a variety of Virgin Galactic events around the world, making these events a “who’s who” convention of the world’s richest people, perfect for networking both, in space and, on planet earth! All future astronauts get to visit Mr. Branson’s Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands. Guests will stay with Sir Richard Branson and other future astronauts while being completed for the all important G-force training.

SpaceX

SpaceX

Though unconfirmed by sources close to the company, the Washington DC based SpaceX Inc. could be a perfect company to enter the fray of competing company’s offering space tourism. Already operating under a $1.6 billion contract with NASA, SpaceX is set to fly cargo missions to the International Space Station. Its Dragon spacecraft was specifically designed to carry astronauts and could be the perfect candidate craft for a space tourism venture. Undoubtedly, the extra private sector capital SpaceX would receive if it offered Space Tourism could significantly increase its already voluminous government grants. As the world’s fastest-growing provider of launch services, it would be a logical step for the management at the company to take.

SpaceX say that the technology behind their Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy and Dragon crafts will transform space exploration by providing highly reliable vehicles at radically reduced costs.

Space Travel Russia

Russian Space Agency

Russian entrepreneurs are eyeing ways to enter the Space tourism sector for recreational, leisure or business purposes. A number of startup companies in Russia are hoping to create a Russian space tourism industry backed by the Russian State Space consortium who will use the Baikonur Cosmodrome as a base for Space tourism. In partnership with the Russian Space Agency, orbital space tourism opportunities could cost drastically less than other similar offerings. Already numerous Russian oligarchs are purported to be interested in the venture and the injection of capital could see the Russian Space Agency receiving much needed capital from private companies.

Russia was the first nation to offer such exclusive space tourism seats, when between 2001 and 2009 Space Adventures to the International Space Station aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft were sold for between US $20–40 million. This makes a Russian enterprise a perfect match due to the international notoriety of these initial space flights .

Tourist flights are tentatively planned to resume in 2015, when tourist use 3 person Soyuz launches could be as much as 10 per year.

The Russians involved in these new ventures prefer not to use the term to “tourism”, but rather “personal spaceflight”.

As of 2014, multiple Russian companies are proposing sales of orbital and suborbital flights. We at Travelucion® are attempting to obtain extra details, prices and frequency of these Space Flights for Space tourism.

Space Travel Japan

Space Travel Japan

Another contender in the suborbital space flight tourism sector is Tokyo based Space Travel Japan. Space tourists, at 3 times the speed of sound, the spaceship will traverse through the stratosphere, atmosphere, and into space. Once reaching “100km” above earth, paying astronauts will experience true zero gravity. Plans are for a large interior space craft which will allow space tourists to take off their seatbelts and spin around like they have seen astronauts do both in real life and in the movies. Views from the spacecraft window will reveal the beautiful blue planet earth rotating majestically on its axis before your very eyes. A perfect time to peer back to the country you live in awe of the gracefulness of the earth. The Space Travel Japan team are eagerly hoping that couples and families will make this an experience they’ll never forget.

Space Travel Japan boldly claim that Space travel is no longer reserved for a small handful of people and they expect their initial flights to be much less that the competing Virgin Galactic prices, at just $110K its less than half the price of Mr. Branson’s initial price to travel to space.

Space Warp Drive

Space Warp Drive

Base upon a new scientific theory, a space warp drive could reduce the travel time between stars from tens of thousands of years to days, weeks or months. Mr. H. G. White, a physicist and engineer with NASA is attempting to determine if faster-than-light travel or in layman’s terms “warp drive” could someday be a reality. The NASA team has been trying to slightly distort the trajectory of a photon, modifying the distance it travels in a certain space, and then analyzing the change with an apparatus called an interferometer.

NASA’s Dr. White states that “Space has been growing since the dawn of Big Bang 13.7 billion years ago”. He claims that “And we know that when you research some of the cosmology arrays, there were initial periods of the universe where there was explosive increases, where two points would’ve gone apart or receding away from each other at very brisk speeds. Nature is able to do it,” he stated. “So the question is, can we replicate this?”

Mexican physicist, Miguel Alcubierre stated in 1994, that faster than light speeds are in fact possible in ways that do not contradict Einstein resulting in a type of Space Warp Drive. Primarily, by harnessing the expansion and contraction of the areas of space themselves. Dr. Alcubierre’s supposition is that a space ship still couldn’t exceed light speed in a localized region of space. But a hypothetical propulsion system he drew out manipulated space and time by generating what he called a “warp bubble” that could enlarge space on one side of a spacecraft and reduce it on another thus causing a type of space vortex in the process.

This theory Space Warp Drive could reduce space travel times exponentially, making distances which today seem impossible to cover, reduce significantly.
